This is a Trusted Review. Why?
We stayed here for three nights in March 2013 and loved it. The apartment has two separate bedrooms and tons of space, especially for the amount that we paid. It's conveniently close to the Lucca train station - just a 10 minute walk. Yet it's inside the city walls and has a great view of the city ramparts and the people pouring in/out the Lucca main gate daily.
The kitchenette functions well and is equipped with everything we needed to make coffee and serve antipasti. The owner, Marco, speaks/reads/writes English well and we were able to coordinate check-in, check-out, and questions via email with no problem. There's a washing machine/spin dryer in the bathroom that's quite convenient to use - it worked great for us.
The worst problems we had were the strange shower setup which leaked water out of the tub area if you weren't careful with the curtain, the lack of Wi-Fi/Internet connection, and the under-the-hood range light wasn't working - all minor problems outweighed by the apartment's value and location. Also, the apartment is up a few flights of stairs if that matters to you.
We had a great stay here in Lucca!
