About Jugend & Familiengästehaus Graz
Jugend & Familieng�stehaus Graz youth hostel is ideally located in a quiet park area close to the city centre and the old town of Graz.
We offer accommodation in different categories, including dormbeds, two to four bedded rooms as well as special family rooms. Private rooms are en suite (shower/toilet in the room). Dormitories are very simple rooms with bunk beds (basement and first floor, shower/toilet on the corridor) Prices include a rich American breakfast buffet, linen and towels.Visitorstax of � 1,00 is NOT included in the price.
WHAT�S THERE TO DO?
No matter if you are spending time playing tablestop football (fussball), at the play station or playing one of our many games� Even on a rainy day nobody should be bored here in Graz. Additionally, THE climbing hall of Austria is situated in our house, the �City Adventure Center� (1465 m� Indoor-Climbing-Area, 215 m� Outdoor-Climbing-Area, Skywalk 13 meters above the ground, Nature & Recreation Area). Families with children can also spend time in our inviting kids area or in the park outside.
In 1999, Graz was declared UNESCO world cultural heritage site because of its stunning old townl. Even though �Culture Capital Graz 2003� is over, Graz continues to impress with its prime cultural selection.
The Youth & Family hostel Graz is a Hostelling International (HI) hostel. A valid HI membership card is required to stay at HI hostels. If you are no member, an extra fee of � 1,50 will apply. You can get a membership card before your trip to Austria in your home country.

A great lively hostel, but penalised if a single traveller as stung for high rates to have a room on your own, so could only afford to share a dorm (4 bed). This was fine for two nights but the first night was a disaster due to someone returning to the dorm at 4.30 am with man in tow stinking of booze and smoke. Then the goings on under the duvet prevented any sleep so I got up at 5.30 am, had a shower and waited for the 7.00 am breakfast, after letting the two concerned know what I thought. ( I apologise to the other two occupants of the room as I was so furious I slammed the door). Complained to reception staff. The trouble with city hostels that have check in til 1.00 am and have entry every half an hour til 3.00am for those out late encourages antisocial behaviours (UK YHA note that if you go down the route of more city hostels this is what happens in ones abroad) Room also very hot and duvets far too warm to sleep under.
All in all a cheap budget stay but pay extra for a room on your own, or don't put up with the behaviour like I did. The more people complain, the more people may realise that their behaviour is unacceptable.
The last two nights were fine with fellow dorm members being very respectful of noise etc.
