we went back and stayed again on our return journey. its close to the bridge in a quiet area; it was difficult to find the actual door as there is no big sign just a metal plate on the bell which didn't work when we pressed it. the square that the hostel is in is really nice with a few places to eat at and a market in the morning.the small pizza cafe on the corner was good for take away pizza. the room was great and suited us as a family with a seperate room off our room for the children.

The Vecchia Firenze (Old Florence), situated in the storic center of Florence, newly restored and equipped with lift is located on the third floor within an old building from the 1500s.

Very near to all the main sights and museums of Florence such as The Old Bridge, Pitti Palace, Boboli Garden and The Uffizi Gallery, the Vecchia Firenze is ideal for a stay which takes in history, art and romanticism.

Monika and her husband were very helpful to us. i would definately recoomend this place to you. oh and the ice cream shop at the new bridge opposite the old one did the best ice cream.

Directions
You can easily reach the Vecchia Firenze by car or by bus.
For those travelling by car, you will need to take the motorway exit for Firenze-Certosa and then follow the signs for Florence as far as Porta Romana Square and then take Via Romana as far as Via San Agostino.
(It will be necessary that you let us have the car registration number so as to acquire the (ZTL) permit which will allow the car to enter the area for the purposes of unloading and loading luggage)
If you want to park the car nearby, we have an agreement with a garage beside the B&B.
For those arriving by train, you can take the bus Linea D which stops at Piazza Santo Spirito.
