About Corcreggan Mill Hostel / B&B

Corcreggan Mill has been best described as "the perfect place for the price-conscious guest seeking that elusive combination of comfort, atmosphere and tranquillity in a beautiful, rural, coastal setting".

The range of facilities includes:

5. General

· hot cooked breakfast available if required.

Self-catering kitchen available.

No minimum-stay requirement, but we try to encourage our guests to stay at least 3 days.... because there's too much unspoilt scenery, outdoor activities and culture for just 1 or 2 days; our guests have a better holiday experience; it's better for the community and environment and it ensures a happier atmosphere in our house.

The 18c Mill House was totally renovated in 2000 and is renowned for its tranquillity, its warm hospitality (and we don't just mean the turf and log fires), its comfortable handmade wooden beds, our recycling policy, organic garden, and meditation sanctuaries, the sound of the Mill stream by day and the crashing of waves on Tramore beach by night. We have no TVs or Radios for entertainment. Our guests don’t need them!

The property was once an important pre-Celtic site, said to be the energy centre for the whole Northwest of Ireland. It has 145, recorded, archaeological sites within an 8km radius. There are also 7 golden sandy beaches, New Lake Nature Reserve, Ards Forest Park with its nature trails, the 180m (600ft) Horn Head sea cliffs and historic Doe Castle; within the same radius, (not to mention the many traditional music pubs, quality restaurants, visitor attractions and outdoor activities). Glenveigh National Park and Tory Island are also within easy reach.

Corcreggan Mill is an ideal venue for workshops, retreats and outdoor activities, which tend to take place off-season, when there are fewer tourists and the lake is full of migratory geese, duck and swans. This quieter time of year is also favoured by birdwatchers, writers, artists and photographers.
