The location was good, close to the station and other facilities. Although the building was old, it had lots of character. The only problem was not having a lift/elevator. The Hotel is on the 3rd Floor and dragging 2 heavy suitcases up stairs is not for the "faint and weakhearted".

About Hotel Balbi
It is located in the central university area, in a historic palazzo characterized by frescoes and parquet.
It is 200 metres from the Genoa Porta Principe railway station, 500 metres from the trade fair area, which includes the aquarium, the children's city and the conference centre and 800 metres from the ferry terminal and the Genova Ovest toll road exit.
It is equipped with rooms with bath hair dryer minibar direct line telephone air conditioning and SATTV, plus a dining room with bar, internet point and fax service.
We have a free wifi in all the hotel and in all the rooms.

The location was good, close to the station and other facilities. Although the building was old, it had lots of character. The only problem was not having a lift/elevator. The Hotel is on the 3rd Floor and dragging 2 heavy suitcases up stairs is not for the "faint and weakhearted". Also, it would be difficult for prams and impossible for wheelchairs.
Typically small European showers are a problem for larger people
The staff were pleasant and helpful. We are Australian, both aged 68 years
