Hotel Poggio del Sole (Hotel of the Sunny Hill) - is a cosy, charming, family owned and operated hotel at the foot of Mount Epomeo on the beautiful Italian Island of Ischia.

The hotel is perfectly positioned for quiet and peaceful afternoons spent gazing at the panorama of lush greenery, dramatic cliffs and sparkling blue waters and is in walking distance from both the centre of Forio and the sea.

Hotel Poggio del Sole provides everything you need to make your vacation perfect: comfortable rooms, all with unlimited view of the Mediterranean Sea, pool, sundeck, on-site parking and most of all the warm hospitality of the owners and staff.

All rooms feature a private bathroom with hairdryer, satellite TV, personal safe, mini-refrigerator, air conditioning/heating.

Also available are fully serviced two bedroom apartments with small kitchenettes for 4-6 people.

Each room boasts either a balcony or terrace with unobstructed views of the Mediterranean sea.

The hotel also features a sundeck and pool, showers, umbrellas, sun chairs and magnificent sea views.

You may spend your time sipping homemade limoncello among the olive and fruit trees in the quiet garden or in the family’s private vineyard.

A full bar is always available, as is a widescreen TV and lounge, perfect for those can’t be missed football matches.

Private parking is available for those with cars, otherwise rides in the hotel’s minibus may be arranged. We can also organise boat, bike, car or moped rentals for you at reduced rates. Free transportation to and from “Negombo Spas & Thermal Baths”, private babysitting can be arranged.

La Casereccia (Home Cooked), is the on-site restaurant, where the tradition of Italian cooking grows not only from the earth but also from the passion of the Colella family who have lived on the Island of Ischia for over 200 years.

It is this heartfelt passion born out of family tradition combined with the freshest family grown produce that makes every meal a memorable one.

The explosion of flavour when tasting Mama Tina’s cooking is more than a taste sensation, in each mouthful, you taste the warmth of hand tended produce grown in the soil of tradition.

The Colella family welcome you to La Casereccia where delicious home cooked food is always available and their friendly family hospitality will make your dining experience unforgettable.

The Restaurant at Poggio del Sole is open to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast begins at 8:00am, lunch 12:30pm, dinner at 7:30pm; meals are served until the last guest is ready to retire. As this is a true family restaurant, casual dress is appropriate, children are welcome, and reservations are not necessary.

Half board at Poggio del Sole includes breakfast and either lunch or dinner ( daily menu with 4 courses dishes is 15 euro per person ). And of course, as this is your vacation, happy hour is every hour.

After all of your feasting, don't forget to ask about purchasing a bottle or two of some of the hotel's homemade wine or liqueurs to take home to friends and family. We offer lemon, strawberry, melon, liquorice, arugula (rocket), basil, walnut, or coffee flavors.

Poggio del Sole offers some of the best rates on the island. The hotel is an exceptionally great deal for those travelling in groups with some of the rooms offering facilities for five people and several with accomodation for six.
