After reading some of the reviews on here for this hotel, I was Very worried. I needn't have been.
This is a cheap and chearful little 2* hotel in Milan. If you want luxury and can afford the high prices, go somewhere else.
If you want a basic, clean hotel to put your head down at an affordable price, this could be for you.
The reception is bright modern and clean. The staff are friendly and greeted us by name when we walked in.

The Catalani& Madrid , catalani street n.71 is ideally situated only 200 mts. from the underground station 'Loreto' where the lines MM1 and MM2 will take you in 5 min. to the Cathedral's Place and Central Railway Station and in 15 min. to the international Trade Fair. The Hotel can be easily reached from highway junctions (Tangenziale Est - exit Lambrate) and from the near airport 'Linate'(about 10 min. by car).

We are situated near one of the most important shopping areas of Milan, easily reached from the airport thanks to the East Bypass, which is only a few stops from Piazza Duomo.
The staff will be happy to receive yourselves with pleasantness and courtesy, ready to greet you with a smile for all your wishes.
The rooms are provided with colour television, and direct phone. At the reception you can use the fax and e-mail services. The reception is open 24hours.

This is a cheap and chearful little 2* hotel in Milan. If you want luxury and can afford the high prices, go somewhere else.
If you want a basic, clean hotel to put your head down at an affordable price, this could be for you.
The reception is bright modern and clean. The staff are friendly and greeted us by name when we walked in. The stairway is a little dark and not very inviting (no lift) but hey, its a hallway.
The room is basic: a double bed, dresser and wardrobe. a small TV is also in the room. (great if you speak Italian) The room we stayed in had a large window, overlooking the courtyard. No air con, but a room fan. The room has a radiator, but to be fair it did get a little cool at night.
The bathroom is small, but well fitted and clean. Towels provided. A good shower, with plenty of hot water. Cleaner came in every day and made the bed and changed the towels etc.
Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast: juice, coffee, cereal and croissante. Fresh and as much as you want.I wish the room had had tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
One word of warning: the 24hour bar is a bit pricey !! 3 euro for a tiny coffee or a can of pop.overall, a nice friendly cheap clean hotel, great for a short break. Easy access to trams and subway.
