The first evening they got our booking wrong so we had a very small room in Hotel Eva next door - not recommended. However, the second night was better. The rooms are very simple - nothing special but clean and comfortable.
It was a little hard to find as its on the 4th floor in a traditional building, but the people are friendly. The location is good - a 15 min walk to the centre, so to pay that little bit less for an out of town location can be worth it.

It was a little hard to find as its on the 4th floor in a traditional building, but the people are friendly. The location is good - a 15 min walk to the centre, so to pay that little bit less for an out of town location can be worth it. But there were nicer looking hotels closer to the Central Station.
Watch the lift though - if you suffer from the smallest claustrophobia, I wouldn't risk it! The lift is tiny!

This hotel is centraly located only 10mins walk from Milan Central Station. The hotel is situated in a fairly quite location.
Some tram routes are located on the very street that the hotel is on which is very handy indeed. In addition, 2 metro stops are again within only 5-10 mins walking distance away which allows for even more transport options.
The hotel offers 2 terminals which incorporate free Internet access which was a real bonus!!
The facilities and service provided do present fairly good value for money.
The friendly and helpful staff added to the enjoyment our 4 night stay at the Hotel Arno.

Patricio, the owner and greeter was very friendly and helpful to us in many ways. There is an eleveator, although small, to the 4th floor. Since we had a room without bath (sink only), the room was larger than expected . The shared bath was large and clean. We (mature couple) feel we finally found a hotel in Milan as budget travelers and within walking distance of the railway station.

Directions
MALPENSA AIRPORT
From Malpensa airport you can get a taxi (70,00/80,00 ), the train (9,00 one way) or the bus.
You can get the train inside the airport Terminal 1 every half an hour; it joins the airport with Cadorna station. From Cadorna get the subway, direction Gessate/Cologno (green line) until 'Centrale'.
The bus is the 'Malpensa Shuttle' and arrives directly to the main train station. Depart from Piazza Duca d'Aosta (the plaza outside the main train station) on via Napo Torriani and walk it until Piazza Cincinnato. Here bear right onto via Lazzaretto. Alternatively you can catch a taxi for 8-10.
BERGAMO ORIO AL SERIO AIRPORT
From Bergamo airport you can get the bus (6,70 one way). The bus arrives directly to the main train station every half an hour. Depart from Piazza Duca d'Aosta (the plaza outside the main train station) on via Napo Torriani and walk it until Piazza Cincinnato. Here bear right onto via Lazzaretto. Alternatively you can catch a taxi for 8-10.
LINATE AIRPORT
From Linate airport you can choose to get a taxi (10,00/12,00 ). Alternatively you can catch the bus which arrives directly to the main train station or chose the public bus, in this case get the line 73, direction 'San Babila'; in San Babila get the subway (red line) until the stop 'Porta Venezia'. From here, walk down Viale Tunisia and turn right into Lazzaretto (4 blocks).
CENTRAL STATION (STAZIONE CENTRALE F.S.)
Depart from Piazza Duca d'Aosta (the plaza outside the station) on via Napo Torriani and walk it until Piazza Cincinnato. Here bear right onto via Lazzaretto.
BUS STATION (LAMPUGNANO)
Catch the Red Metro Line to PTA VENEZIA. From here, walk down Viale Tunisia and turn right into Lazzaretto (4 blocks).
the Hotel ARNO has a small external sign out the front.
You will need to press the buzzer and reach
the rooms at the 4th floor.
