Excellent value for money. Great size rooms! Very clean though basic. Location is very good and everything in walking distance - be it centre or station. Breakfast was simple but quantity was generous.
Loved that they had SOUND OF MUSIC playing every night. It helped us enjoy our tour a lot. Staff was friendly and helpful.
We recommend it with pleasure and hopefully will return to one of the 'Strawberry's'! This was our second (the first one was in Vienna!!)

Hotel quality at hostel prices
The Strawberry Hostel Salzburg is located close to the Old Town and it takes only 7 minutes walk to get to the Downtown. The building lies right next to the river Salzach, in a wonderful location and it's only a stone's throw away the famous Augustiner brewery. A separate road for travellers on bicycle and on foot takes visitors to the Downtown along the river bank of Salzach.
We offer rooms for 1, 2, 3 and 4 people, in each room there is a toilet and a shower. You can also have breakfast in the restaurant in our hostel. Tickets for sightseeing tours (Sound of Music, Bavarian Mountains, Salt Mines etc.) are available at the reception.

Obviously its a temporary hostel for the summer. Beds are excellent and noise low. Breakfast ordinary but then you don't have to pay for it. Lovely walk along Salzach river to the old town center. Have to always leave your key which is fine but sometimes reception is busy and you can end up waiting along time. Can't pay by card which is a pain as deposit is taken by card. Overall lovely service and very clean. Not much smoking either.

Directions
From the Train Station:
It takes only 10 minutes to reach the hostel. At the entrance of the building turn left, straight ahead to Saint-Julien Strasse, then turn right to the direction of the river Salzach, cross the bridge.
After the bridge turn left at Franz-Josef-Kai. Walk 100 meters, till
Strubergasse. The hostel is on the corner. The rooms have a beautiful sight
on the river Salzach.
From the airport:
It takes about 15 minutes by taxi (5km). From the airport to the city centre is approx. 8,-
