I did only stay 1 night but it is sufficient enought to notice the quality of that Hostel.
A warm welcome, precise advices for directed in the city and full of cheerfulness. The rooms are Okay and shower-rooms are clean.
For a single person the price is perfect. On the other hand, in couple, there is some charming bed and breakfast in the historic center, for +/-the same price.
Anyway, I'll recomand the Hotel of the sun.
Overall, a fairly average hostel, not the kind of hostel that inspires passions one way or the other. That´s why I was so surprised to read that this hostel has been voted one of the best worldwide. I don´t know who was voting and what were the critiera, but I can think of a good number of hostels that easily beat this one on location, cleanliness, quality of breakfast, or value. The hostel is not extremely dirty or overpriced - on the contrary, it has just the level of grunge (i.e. faucets that vacillate between trickle and geyser, balconies overlooking back alleys) that I expect from an average hostel. In only one respect is the Hostel of the Sun truly superior (and I suspect that this is the category in which they won their award): their staff really is very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to welcome guests and give them an orientation to Naples. In no other hostel have the staff volunteered to look after my bags after checkout while I look around town. Go expecting an average hostel with an above-average staff.
