Welcome to The Beach House in Tanjung Bungah, just a stone's throw from a secluded beach and fishing village. We are only minutes away from all amenities including public transport, ATM banking, post office, wet market, food outlets, water sport activities and Straits Quay, Penang's first retail marina.

You will have the perfect holiday break in this tranquil location. Your host, Rae is well traveled and understands the needs of travelers from all over the world. She is a New Zealander who epitomises true Kiwi hospitality and enjoys introducing visitors to the delights of Penang.

The Beach House is set up for a truly relaxing holiday. You can relax in the cool ambiance of either the upstairs or downstairs lounges or enjoy a drink and cook on the BBQ in the beer garden. Watch DVDs, read books and magazines, or play board games after a busy day seeing the sights of Penang. There is free Wi-Fi access so that you can catch up with friends and family during your stay.

For the independent traveler, bus stops are just minutes away, or you can hire bicycles or motorbikes for a convenient and enjoyable way to tour the island. You can even hire a kayak and paddle out to visit the lighthouse which is only a short distance from shore.

Whatever you decide to do during your stay with us, we aim to ensure that you have a superb holiday break and at the end of the day you can simply relax right here and enjoy the peace and tranquility of The Beach House.

The Beach House has six private queen rooms available which can sleep up to 12 people. There is room for extra beds on request for groups. There is a charge of RM 25 for each extra person. A cot for babies or toddlers can be provided at no extra cost.

The mattresses and pillows are all brand new (July, 2012) with mattress protectors and clean, white bed linen. The rooms are not serviced, but if your stay is longer than one week, fresh linen is provided each week. Towels are also provided on arrival and then on request.

All rooms have air-con and fans and three rooms have their own private balcony. There are four very clean shared bathrooms with western style toilets and showers with hot water. There is a bathtub in one of the bathrooms.

There is a strict no smoking policy. Smoking is allowed only in the outside areas.

There are great kitchen facilities where guests can cook for themselves. Self-service breakfast is provided. This includes eggs, bread and spreads, milk, cereal, tea and coffee.

From the airport or the ferry terminal: From Penang airport you can get a taxi for RM45 and the journey will take around 40 minutes, depending on the traffic. From the ferry terminal, the taxi will cost about RM35. Alternatively you can take a 102 from the airport for RM2.70, or 101 or 102 for RM2 from the ferry. The bus trip will take longer than by car, but it's a great opportunity to relax and enjoy your first sights of Penang. Ask the driver to drop you opposite Jalan Wee Hein Tze near Amigo’s, Tanjung Bungah. Amigo’s is a great place to eat Indian food practically opposite our street. Directly behind it is the Lye Ong Cafe which serves Chinese food.

Travelling by car from south on Jalan Tanjung Bungah, take a u-turn at the lights near the Maybank (yellow building) and head back towards Georgetown on Jalan Tanjung Bungah. Turn left into Jalan Wee Hein Tze, turn left again, then turn right into Solok Wee Hein Tze. The Beach House is at the end of the close on the right hand side.

Traveling from north (Batu Ferringhi / Teluk Bahung) go past the Floating Mosque, go past the New Hope Inn on your left, turn left into Jalan Wee Hein Tze, turn left again, then turn right into Solok Wee Hein Tze. The Beach House is at the end of the close on the right hand side.
