I stayed here for just one night in June 2010. The location is great for wandering around and exploring Palermo and it's also near a drop-off point for the bus from the airport. Also witin walking distance of the bus/train station.
The rooms are nice and clean and basically what you'd expect at a hostel, although my room was less of a dorm as it only had two beds, and some of the other rooms only had three beds I think.
Service is very good, Claudia came out with us for dinner and was generally good fun.
Only downside is that the central location means it can be a bit noisy but if you're a deep sleeper like me then it isn't a problem at all :-)

People are very friendly but it could be a very noisy place because of the bad quality of the whole construction. We were awaked by sliding doors, people in the drinking kitchen at 4 am, etc.
We quit the place for an other hotel cheaper but much nicer (ARISTON).
Casa di Amici is in fact a youth hotel but overpriced for the quality of the rooms.
A Casa di Amici is an amazing hostel in a great location in Palermo. It is central, really easy to find and most of all the staff Letizia is amazing! Her welcome is warm, she is fun (always smiling) and she is a font of local knowledge. The hostel has wonderful, spacious, theme rooms and super clean bathrooms with hairdryers and all mod-cons. There are no bunk beds, which is a relief, and the beds are equipped with super fluffy doonas/duvets. A really great place with friendly staff and a fabulous atmosphere! Stay here.
