Salon 151, New York, USA

Salon151 is a gallery guest house providing sense of " living art". Salon151 is just opened and has been serving people from everywhere. It is located in williamsburg, where art lovers must stop by. We have 6 private rooms and all decorated in different styles. We don't have dormitory style beds. Many belongings in Salon151 is made by local artists and previous guests.

Salon 151 is a long-term project that was started by the artist Ji Youn Hong. Jiyoun is a Korean artist that received a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MFA from the Chicago Arts Institute. After graduating she decided that art should be experienced not only in museums and galleries but that it should be a part of everyone’s daily life. This desire compelled her to create Salon 151. It is a multipurpose space designed to provide the sense of art and life intertwined. Many objects in the space are created by local artists and previous guests. Guests are encouraged to use the space as a place to work on their own projects.

It is our mission to spread better understanding of art among artists and art lovers.

Wireless – You are encouraged to bring your own laptop.

Dining room - serve bread, coffee, juice, teas, jams, etc. we cook together sometimes and drink together, it is a very fun part of staying at our place. We do love BBQ party !! Cooking utensils and seasoning are provided.

Education, social and cultural activities - we plan to have diverse activities weekly and daily. If you want to find more details, click "Events" on the menu tab above. We encourage guests to suggest fun events. We have a projector, a LP player, and a speaker as well as a coconut instrument. There are many books ranging from art related and information based.

From JFK Airport

By Subway:

Step one: Take "Air train"($5) to get to "Howard Beach" Station where you can transfer to subway

Step two: Take "A train"(subway) at the "Howard Beach—JKF Airport" Tip: subway pass

Step three: Transfer to Manhatten bound "L train" and get off at the "Bedford Ave" station.

By Car/Taxi:

You will find a taxi stop at JFK Airport. Follow the sign for taxi. (Yellow cab: $45~$50)

By Bus:

You will find MTA Bus station at JFK airport. Follow the sign of Bus (One way $15)

From LaGuardia Airport

By Subway+Bus:

Step one: Take M60 bus at the LaGuadia bus station (fare $2.25) and get off at 125th St.

Step two: Take 4, 5 train to 14 st–Union Square.

Step three: At "14 st–Union Square, transfer to L train and get off at Bedford Avenue station.

By Car/Taxi:

You will find taxi stop at LaGuardia Airport. Follow the sign of Taxi at the airport. (Yellow cab: $30~$35)

By Bus:

Departs every 30 min at the Grand Central Station and Penn Station. (Fare $13)
