upon check-in, i found dried yellow urine stains on the toilet seat, as if the room hadn't been turned over in between clients. on day2, the phone in my room died. on the 3rd night, i pulled off the blanket to go to bed and found a cockroach crawling around my sheets. i went to the front desk and was promptly given insecticide to do it myself.

The Towne Hotel located in downtown Nassau is the choice of travellers from all parts of the world and all ages.
World famous Bay Street is at your doorstep for shopping and exciting night life with live entertainment. You are a few yards from U.S. EMBASSY, Government House, straw market, the beach, cruise ship docks and many historical sites.
The hotel has 46 rooms in a three floor courtyard setting overlooking the pool patio area. All rooms have private bathroom ensuite, air conditioning, ceiling fans, direct dial telephones and television offering programs in English, French, German and Spanish. Please note our triple rooms have 2 Double Beds (2 large beds for 2 people in each). Our twin room has 2 single beds and a roll away bed.
You can enjoy a ferry boat ride to Paradise Island or taxi to Atlantis or Cable Beach Casinos ten minutes away. If not you can relax at our pool while sipping an island drink such as 'Bahamian Delight' and sampling 'Conch Fritters'. The 'Talking Stick Restaurant and Lounge' is also open from 7:30am till 11pm.
Beach towels are available from our front desk and the room rate includes Towne breakfast daily.
Come and stay where you will be greeted by warm, friendly staff, looking forward to your return and when you leave even the parrots say 'Bye Bye!

upon check-in, i found dried yellow urine stains on the toilet seat, as if the room hadn't been turned over in between clients. on day2, the phone in my room died. on the 3rd night, i pulled off the blanket to go to bed and found a cockroach crawling around my sheets. i went to the front desk and was promptly given insecticide to do it myself. after waiting around and arguing with the front desk for about 2hours till 4am the guy miraculously "found" another available room which he had previously insisted the hotel was full. i checked out promptly the next day and got a compensation for all the horrors, and checked into the hilton. the hotel is very very dated and old and dirty, so if u're looking for clumps of hair, cockroaches, noise, urine stains and bed bugs, go ahead. i would definitely pay alittle more to enjoy my stay. the hotel completely ruined the vacation. oh yea, there's no aircon. at a sweltering 35degrees, u dont want to have to sleep with a groaning old fan.

Simple but clean accommodations. What struck me the most was the friendly service of all the staff. Great value for money for the budget traveler. Only downside is that the location is a bit scary at night. I recommend using a taxi after sundown. Otherwise a great stay and I will definitely stay here again.

my room is quite depressing, and smell bad with no fresh air. The price I found online is $82, but ended up paying $103 after adding all the tax etc. unexpected. Glad I only stayed one night. and got 2 big bug bites from it.

A bus depot is on George St. as well as Bay Street 100 yards from the Hotel.
Taxi service is available and the front desk staff are always there to assist you.
Transportation to and from the airport can be arranged for $20.00 per person round trip. You must request this in advance and provide the name of the airline, flight number, departure and arrival time and dates.
Nassau airport is approximately 12 miles west of Downtown Nassau.
