PLUS Camping Roma

This was the second camping we visited in a travel round Italy and was quite as good as the first one except for the location: you have to get two buses from the centre: the 46 and then the 246 and as the public transport in Rome is.

About PLUS Camping Roma

Welcome to PLUS Camping Roma. We provide better value for money and facilities than any other hostel in Rome.

We have all types of accommodation to suit every budget, from shared house tents to private/shared cabins (twins and triples-quads and fives) with ensuite bathrooms – some even come with a fully equipped kitchenette.

Our spacious two-bed tents include bed linen but not towels. Bathrooms are located outside the tent and were recently totally renovated.

The deluxe twin private rooms are modern, ensuite cabins which can comfortably sleep two people. They feature their own shower and toilet, storage, bedding, towels, heading, air conditioning and electrical outlets.

The superior four-bed and five-bed private rooms are spacious mobile homes, each with two rooms (one with twin beds and a bunk bed and one with a double bed) as well as a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, air conditioning and heating, a fridge, bed linen, towels, storage and electrical outlets.

If you prefer shared accommodation, the mixed ensuite dorms are modern cabins that sleep up to three people and have their own shower, toilet, storage, bedding, towels, heating, air conditioning and electrical outlets.

The three-bed shared mixed tents are spacious house-tents with three beds; one is a bunk bed with a sliding door that you can lock with a key. Bed linen is included, but towels are not. Bathrooms are located outside the tent and were recently totally renovated.

If you book a non-ensuite room, you are booking a bed in a house tent which is equipped with very comfortable beds. Blankets, bed linen and pillows are included in the price.

What other budget hostel has facilities like ours? We’ve got regular theme parties, a swimming pool, BBQs, Jacuzzis, a mini market, beach volleyball, a big-screen TV, super-friendly staff, the best restaurant and pizzeria, a poolside bar and – not forgetting – the coolest, funkiest late night bar with a DJ. These Romans know how to party!

We have the usual things you find in a youth hostel, including an internet point so you can chat to your envious mates and family back home, laundry (gotta wash those socks sometime, man!), 24hr security and luggage storage.

Towels are can be rented for just €2 from reception.

Single-sex bathroom facilities are available.

Our info point can send you off in the right direction with maps, tickets and excursions around the eternal city while our friendly international staff will be glad to welcome you on-site at our restaurant, pub or nightclub – in fact, anywhere, anytime. During the summer, a shuttle bus to/from the Vatican is available for €2 per person round trip.

This was the second camping we visited in a travel round Italy and was quite as good as the first one except for the location: you have to get two buses from the centre: the 46 and then the 246 and as the public transport in Rome is... let's just say "very VERY bad" it could take you more than an hour to get to the camping... except for that: complete and clean, the tents (where we stayed) were okay and worthwhile, and the price was okay (Rome is expensive). Maybe too large, but okay in the end.

Hello, we were very impressed with this site.
The pool area , supermarket etc were just great. We didnt try the restaurant.
The showers and toilets were really good.
The chalets were away from the main road so were a lot quieter than the tents.
Noise was our only problem. only 2€ return shuttle bus to the vatican 10 minutes away.
The security guards soon sorted out noisy revellers in the early hours.
We rented a car at the airport and it was very expensive (because the extra insurance was 27€/day), but driving in Rome was not difficult if you have the nerve for it!
Watch out for the wildlife on site...lots of different birds (wrens, blackbirds, sparrow, parrots) and spot the brightly coloured lizards around the site.
A super holiday!

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

i have stayed in a lot of better places. the highlight of the camping was that it was very very clean. and for budget travellers it was great because it was right across the street from a big supermarket. but honestly i can't recommend it. there were a lot of negative aspects but the most telling is that during my 5 night stay twice at exactly 4:10 am i was at reception complaing about how i couldn't sleep. i don't blame my noisy neighbors, i blame the camping because they actively encourage a rowdy and obnoxious party atmosphere. i like partying and i love drinking but they had a disco where you could bring your own alcohol and drink there until 3 in the morning. and when the dico closed all the partiers who spent hours shouting to be heard over the pop music left the disco and went back to their tents to continue shouting and partying there. it was a mess. its a great place if you are 20 and looking to pick someone up. but if you are with your partner, if you are over 30, if you are with your kids, my advice is-- there are a lot of campings in and around rome, stay somewhere else.

I would not stay anywhere else, only 2 EURO for a return trip to town, cheap as chips meals and wine at the onsite supermarket and restuarant (we both ate and drank at dinner for 11 EURO) 1.30 EURO bottles of wine and beer at supermarket, Pool is awsome, Great place!

Fun place to stay. Handy to supermarket across the road. Tents are great but can be cold at night in May.

Everything was just perfect! The camping is easy to find. There is a big store just opposite of the the camping where you can find everything you need. The bungalow was clean, the staff was very helpful, smiling and kind. They speak perfect English and French. We stayed there 4 days and we were very happy with everything!! :)))
