I stayed here a few years ago when I was travelling around Europe with a friend, we stayed in ALOT of places and encountered various kinds of accommodation (both very good and both very bad) but I’m happy to say that this was by far one of the highlights of our entire three month trip!
The owner is a lovely woman who owns and runs the place with her mother and they made our stay fantastic! Staying in the actual mansion made me feel as though I had travelled back in time to what Italy was like hundreds of years ago, the place was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Everyone who stayed there were very pleasant and we actually made some good friends, but you can spend time alone if that is what you are looking for, the mansion has acres of grounds surrounding it so you can go on lovely long walks. There is a small town not that far if you want to get a feel for a more local Italian atmosphere, (which is a good chance to brush up on your Italian!). Also the main town isn’t that far (I think a bus ride away) and that’s a great tourist spot, with loads of little roads and cobbled streets. Our trip actually coincided with the Palio that was on at the time which also was amazing.
Our stay was truly magical, we actually cancelled some other parts of our trip so we could extend our stay - trust me this is a place you do not want to miss out on and once you go you’ll never want to leave!
This is a Trusted Review. Why?
these guys were fantastic. The lady who hosted us was so good natured and friendly and had great local knowledge and really helped us out. The place was always tidy and and the rustic farm stay itself was truly fantastic looking and is the perfect place to stay for a tuscan retreat. Bus stop is literally right out side so easy to get in to siena. We had such a great time here, possibly the best place we stayed at in our whole 1 month europe trip. Recommended.
Breakfast fresh crossaints, juice, coffee and breads along with wonderful jams they served were the perfect wake up to start the day. A stroll through their massive yard on massive green land in the afternoon along with a dip in their swimming pool was also a nice touch.
during two months of travelling, my 8 night stay ( extended from 6!) was the highlight , and the best place i have stayed! Fattoria di cavaglioni is an amazing place to be, surrounded by beautiful tuscan countryside , but within a short bus ride of siena. It was perfect!!!! the atmosphere in the fattoria is like no other, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and will instantly feel at home. I miss it so much i want to go back !
---Thank you for a wonderful time in siena!!!!
