About Sydney Hostel

Sydney hostel is currently run by new management that are working hard to provide their guests with a wonderful and enjoyable stay. Sydney hostel is open for all backpackers and budget travellers. All Rooms are well furnished and comes with a private bathroom, hot water, central heating, fridge and satellite TV. Tour arrangements and information are available.

Airport Pickup service can be arranged for the price of only JD 25 per car per way

The Sydney hostel is the best place for backpackers to meet, situated in the city centre in Downtown area, walking distance to major touristic attractions and restaurants. All rooms are fully furnished with private bathroom in each room, hot water, controlled heating/air conditioning, refrigerator, TV & private satellite receiver.

The hotel has a door code access system for our guest's safety and to move freely in and out of the hotel at any time.

Our staff speaks well English as they are always ready to help you with all tourist information and inquiries.

A special service for our guest: we offer drop off service to the airport for only 20 J.D (1-4 people). Beside we organize all kind of tours and transportations to all over Jordan with lower prices and better service.

In dorms Breakfast is not included.

Accommodation Information

The hostel consists of 14 rooms. 5 rooms have balconies facing the downtown area.

We have single, double and triple rooms.

Our dormatiry consists of a three to four bedded bedroom with a private bathroom. The dorm is very spacious and located in a quite area of the hotel.

All beds comes with new white sheets and covers. As well, each guest will have his own white towel.

From Wadi Saqra Street through Prince Mohammad Street. After the last traffic light go right up to the First Circle. The hotel will be on your left side.

I had the most bitter experience of my life at this hotel, for which the hotel and the booking agency both are to be blamed. On arrival at the hotel, I was informed by the manager that they do not have a room. On showing him the confirmation slip, the man was rude and told me that this paper is useless. He said you understand, the hotel is full and I can do nothing. After some arguments, he agreed to put me another hotel. We moved in taxi, at my cost. I was taken to a lot of seedy looking cheap hotels to which I did not agree. After about an hour he received a phone on his cell, informing him that some guests are moving out in the evening. We came back to the hotel, I was told to wait. After two and half hours I was given a three bedded room (looking like a dormitory). I was told charges would be the same. I was lucky that no one turned up at the hotel and I did not have to share the room with others. So please be careful while booking this hotel

Here is my reply to Tavel point

Firstly, ‘sorry’ is not the word for this. One lands at a city after a long flight and thinks of taking rest in the hotel already booked online and then on arriving there you are denied a room, so you don’t know where to go. Also saying sorry is not the way to resolve a serious customer grievance. You are not there to just to collect your service charge and then show total disconcern and inaction to what happens thereon. Please understand the very purpose of your existence as a service provider. Then you say that you hope that this property will not poorly affect your consideration on using Travellerspoint for online bookings again in future. To me it looks like a laughing matter. You should realise the seriousness of you business.

Another point which I would like to make here is that as a service provider; you must check and endorse the claims of facilities being provided by a hotel. Sydney Hotel says that they have wifi access in the lobby and the rooms, where as there is none at any of these places. If you do not check and verify these claims of facilities, then you are a party to all the lies. Hope you give this matter another thought and realise the seriousness of your business.

We are so sorry to hear that Sydney Hostel did not offer you the accommodation you had booked. Since they are notified in triplicate of every booking made, they are certainly expected to be aware of all bookings and keep the rooms free! Staff were very friendly and were able to arrange airport transfers cheaper than local taxis. Could also arrange local tours and had free internet access.

this hotel perfectly met my needs and the manager and staff were very kind and helpful, and had a good sense of humour. I felt safe at all times. I would recommend it to other travellers.
