I stayed there for ten days in July 2011. I had booked the appartment, which then turned out to be the whole wing on the upper floor (three or four bedrooms, separate bath and toilet. Jobcamp did organise a pick-up service for me at the airport. The taxi-driver (a friend of jobcamp) was very friendly, honest and reliable.
The jobcamp is being run by two or three women. They do their best to provide you with a clean and safe accomodation. The jobcamp is surrounded by a wall, which gives you the feeling to be in a separate entity, where you actually are. The location is about 20 km outside of Nairobi. If you have a car and are insofar independent from the matatus (minibuses), the place can be definitely recommended for those, who seek a safe and reliable accomodation at very low prices, and who appreciate the option to discuss the Kenyan social situation with people who can provide insight into their day-to-day experiences. (The car can be parked within the compound).
All financial transactions were 100% correct and underlined by a sound atmosphere of hospitality.
Should I return to Kenya, I will certainly try to book the Jobcamp guesthouse again.
It is highly recommendable for those who come to seek value for money outside of Nairobi (but with their own car) and/or seek to get a closer understanding of the social reality Kenyans are facing when they try to improve their livelihood in a decent way and astablish a small business.
I would definitely recommend it to northern NGOs or representatives of womens´organizations on their trip to their overland missions.

It is a bit out of town, but great for the price. The owner is very friendly, and the house is very nice. It is secure and hospitable, but just not easy to get to Nairobi. Otherwise it is a great place.
