LOCATION

Surrounded by cool Bars, Cafes, and Restaurants but it is relaxing quiet in the hostel. Many shops also nearby for good window shopping and watching the locals in action.

SECURITY

4 secure doors to get to your room with under bed lockers in dorm rooms. Smart Card keys for all guests so that keys could not have been copied by someone else.

Fire safety system connected direct to Fire Department and CCTV cameras at entry points.

IF YOU NEED ACTION

We are a very private hostel so the staff is not in your face. We have tour guides that will pick you up from the hostel to do any of many tours.

KITCHEN

Probably the best hostel kitchen in Latvia. Oven etc.

APARTMENTS AND FAMILY ROOMS

Apartments have minimum 3 days and are not located in the same building. Our website map shows the location. Family rooms are in the hostel and have a Double bed and two single beds - email us for Family Rooms.

Bus and Train Stations

2 tram stops to the bus and train station. 50 mtrs to get on the tram.

Hostel FUN

The hostel is not the place to party all night long but we will set you up to visit the best bars in Riga and meet other travellers.

If you Check out of your room before you have to depart Riga you are welcome to relax in the Common Room and watch movies etc.

Please note, to get to the Reception on arrival before you are issued your Smart Card you could enter this code '11(key symbol)2687' or push the Barons button at each door to have the door opened for you.

11 rings the door bell.

You will know for sure you are at our Funky entrance as there is a silver Barons sign on the right side from the door and a green coloured Australian Chamber of Commerce sign above the door.

Directions

From the Train Station:
Walk across the road to McDonalds and then one more street to Krisjana Barona Street. Turn right and walk to number 25 that is 200 metres away. Funky Hostel is on the top floor of number 25.

Look for the Barons and Australian Chamber of Commerce signs at the entrance door on the street.

From the Bus Station:
Walk towards the Old City by going under the underpass walkway that takes you under the main road. When you emerge on the other side turn right. Walk across the road that has lots of tram tracks and to behind the building that is the Police Station. Behind the Police Station is a tram stop. Take any tram 3,6, 11, or 8 for just two stops. You will get off the tram at the Dzirnavu stop and walk across the road to number 25 that is another 30 metres in the direction the tram was travelling. Funky Hostel is on the top floor of number 25.

From the Airport:
Take a red taxi to Krisjana Barona 25. It will cost you about 7 lats. You can trust the taxi meter on these red taxis. Barons is on the top floor of number 25. If you take the Airport bus 22 or 22A then you need to follow 'From the Train Station' directions once you get off of the bus.
