daphneweym Arrived at 11pm after getting taxi from station. A very friendly welcome. there are 3, 6 bed dorms, the beds are very cosy and plenty of room for all your stuff. also chairs and table in room. Was asked if I would like breakfast next morning and at what time. Breakfast was lovely selection of fresh rolls and ham and cheese. plenty of coffee. in the guest book I wrote "who wants to stay in a 5star hotel when you can stay in a 5star hostel" When I go to Ghent again will be staying at the Andromeda. I was surprised at all the over 40s that stayed. the barge was very quiet and no rowdies. A great idea they had was to have chalk in the loos so could write message on door (eco friendly) I stayed 5 nights before went on to Brussels would have stayed longer if possible. Good luck to them, it took 2 years of hard work to get the barge up and running.
max.priese We were in the front house towards the road, little noisy. Parking is provided in the back but charged an extra 10 Euro per day. Breakfast in a very nice restaurant but charged 15 Euro extra per person. We opted out. Our room was quiet big with a fridge and mini kitchen, very clean but decorating will be necessary in the near future. Did not use the TV. Good info about Gent available in the room. Friendly staff.
rgm Very good relation quality-price. Good service. Good walking around information. Very good breakfast. Negative: cleaning. There was a dirty pad sticked in my blanket.
