phil_life 5th of June 2011 - For the price it was fine. TV and my room had airconditioning, I did not see any other airconditioners located in the other rooms. It is nice and close to the city plaza. However there is not a lot to do in Santa Cruz. So not much point in staying for a long time. Melbourne, Australia Philip

philiph1 Hostal Ambar provides very affordable accommodation in a good location near the centre of Santa Cruz. Given the price, it would be unfair to expect more than is provided. What is important is that the rooms and shared facilities are clean and that the proprietor was always very helpful. The one disappointment was the stagnant water collecting in the empty swimming pool which is a potential breeding spot for mosquitos.
