mjbrennan0 A great value for money location between the the two great beaches of Rio. A comfortable apartment that has a bedroom, very small kitchen and bathroom - Two of us stayed in the flat and found it be be perfectly fine for a short visit (5 days) Ron was great - he stayed in close contact with us before and during our visit to make sure that everything was ok. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in Rio in self catering accommodation and be close to the beach.

oportoal The attention was very good, very, very cordial, given the attention on tour were very effective and fast, good breakfast, clean rooms, the Internet available at all times would come back anyway. Only improve the breakfast table is too small for the amount of people it houses.

Ruthnora The rooms are clean, the showers are hot and the breakfast is delicious. But where Lagoa goes above and beyond even the most hopeful expectations is the friendliness and hospitality of the Brazilian owners Juliana and Wesley. They have offered tips on what to do in the area, have made suggestions for restaurants, guidance on using the buses, arranged laundry pick up, helped with international calls and even took the whole hostel for a night out in Lapa. We originally planned to stay for 3 nights, but between the wealth of things to do in and around Rio, and the fact that the Guest House now feels so much like home, we stayed for several weeks. If it is at all possible, we would strongly recommend attending one of their barbeques, or failing that, do make sure that time is set aside for a long chat in the evening. They are not like guest house hosts; it is more like they have invited you into their own home. They are certainly now great friends. Given that Lagoa is the standard by which all other Guest Houses and hostels will be measured during our travels (the bar now being so high), we would give Lagoa 100%.
