patliddiard We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful, especially with their advice about what to see and how to use the subway system. Bobby, himself, collected us from Beijing Airport and drove us back to the airport on the day of our departure. Throughout our stay he made himself available to help us whenever we required assistance. Our room was comfortable & provided us with all that we needed for a short stay of four nights. It is possible to walk to the city centre from the Hutong but rather easier to use the subway which is reasonably short walk from the Hutong. A most enjoyable evening was had making dumplings at which everybody had to do something. Especially nice about this activity was the opportunity to meet the other guests who heralded from a number of differet countries. Altogether this was a very rewarding and enjoyable few days.

katiegumbo The staff was really nice, spoke great English, and was very helpful in helping to get your bearings. The beds were really comfortable. The menu in the bar/restaurant was pretty limited, but there were plenty of restaurants nearby. Great location. Just a word of warning: make sure you know how to get there on your own, even if you've got a train station pickup scheduled. I don't know if it was just an off day, but everybody who arrived the same day I did (including myself) had a botched pickup and had to find their own way there. But aside from a rough start it was a good place from which to explore the city.
