Gemmalewis One of the best places we have stayed during our 2 months travelling in China! Fantastic, friendly management (thanks to Nadine and Mike for making us feel so welcome!) and staff and an excellent location (away from main town so quiet and rural, but near enough to hop in and out of town for dinner and drinks easily). Tours are very good too; check out the kayaking for a peaceful day on the river and also the cookery course is really good fun and excellent value for money when booked through the Outside Inn. Thoroughly recommended! :)

aderuytter Fun place to stay at! I stayed in a private room and the a/c was excellent! To add to my comfort, I would have preferred a somewhat padded or covered bed mattress (mattresses in Asia are notoriously hard) and larger sheets. The sheets were too small to stay around the mattress or to keep your feet covered. All the people in the hostel are very helpful. If you go on bike trips, the guide of the hostel is excellent. It is not a place to go out in the evening or to stay up late partying. All is quiet around 11:30 and the hostel is a 20 min. walk from Yangshuo, which is fine, but not to be done after hours. There is a barbeque on Sunday evenings which has the guests come together for some excellent food. The location is a plus for its quiet country appeal, but it is away from the city activities if you're in for that.

Mohson Stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights in Feb 2010. I booked through travellerspoint, and got a great offer. The Hotel had acknowledged the deal, and I got a real bargain. The room was spacious with en-suite bathroom. Though there were not many other customers, this did not detract the purpose of my stay. I wanted something cheap, with safety and security, as I spent all my time outdoors. I only used the Hotel to sleep. The location was also great for me as I did not want to stay on West Street (which is the hub of Yangshuo). West Street is less than a 10 minute walk away. Its ideal for anyone who wants to be away from the hustle and bustle of a main road, especially as popular as West Street. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. They were also very helpful and gave great advice and where to travel, and how to get to certain places. I rented a bike for 20 RMB daily for 2 days, and ran it ragged over some tough terrain. The bike did not let me down! If your in Yangshuo - you need to get out on a bike and just get lost! Its extremely easy to navigate and traffic isnt bad. My room was cleaned every morning, and facilities included en-suite bathroom, free access to internet in lobby, a dining area and a bike rental facility. The interaction with staff made my stay all the better, as there were few others who stayed here. I would definately stay here again as I got a real bargain in terms of value. I would also take advantage of their offers - such as booking tickets to the San Jie Liu (Light Performance) which were cheaper than those bought from CITS.
