Foz do Cávado Youth Hostel, Esposende, 葡萄牙

On the bank of the River Cávado, in a village called Fão, you'll find the Youth Hostel of Foz do Cávado.A Hostelling International Member card is required (2€ per night to a maximum of 6 nights).

This is one of the most popular hostels among students who travel around the country on field trips. Renovated in 2000, the hostel has a new swimming pool, which makes the gardens around it even more enticing.

The sea is pretty close too, which might make it hard for you to make up your mind. The Cávado, which flows right next to the hostel, is one of the best rivers for canoeing and other water sports.

We are found just off the N13 as you head into the 'Fao' district. Coming away from Esposende, come over the bridge and keep going until you reach R. Do Ramalhao. Turn left and continue down to the Hostel.

This particular area is not connected by the train, but if you are coming from Barcelos you can take a taxi or regional bus.
