fabian.reichl Hello! We stayed for 5 days, after we had booked the hostel via Hostelworld. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the hostel and the people there. The owner is really nice and has great tips and a few connections to tour guides from the town. It was no problem whatsoever to cancel one night of our stay to leave for a trip to the jungle. There is also a safe storage room to leave some of your things in the hostel, if you´re planning to take a jungle tour for two or more days. The hostel has a little pool, a lake and is all in all very green and natural. There are public baths and toilets outside of the rooms. The breakfast and beverage at the bar are cheap, as well as the rooms. The rooms are equipped with fans as well. Your can wash your clothes for 6000mil pesos per kilo. The hostel is not located far from all the important places in the town, to the harbour you walk by feet for about 10 minutes. We had a fun time and are looking forward to stay in the hostal again, when we get to Leticia another time! We also had a funny evening going out with people from the hostal and the owner, so seriously the atmosphere is really familiar. Have a nice stay in Leticia!
Hans Moleman Two friends of mine and I stayed in La Jangada Hospedaje for two nights. The hostel is well located in Leticia, shops, restaurants and travel agencies can be reached within a few minutes by walk, the Brazilian border can be crossed after a 10 minutes ride by taxi. The night was 25.000 Colombian pesos per person. This is an average price for Colombian hostels. The atmosphere is good and we met several interesting people there. Drinks are available in the lobby, in the morning you can order breakfast. The room we stayed in was clean, towels were provided. There were also two fans in the room which is really necessary in Leticia due to high temperatures and humidity. Outside on the balcony there was a hangmat to chill out. At the time we were there there was no internet availible yet but an internet cafe is just accross the street. The owner Herve - a guy from Switzerland - and his girlfriend speak English well and are both really friendly, joined us when we sat outside and had some drinks at night. Amazing: When I took my laundry I forgot to put a jeans in my bag. I called the hostel and asked if they can send it by taxi to the airport where I was already waiting for my flight. And then after a short while Herve came by bike (!) and brought me the jeans. I don't know other hostels in Leticia but this one I can definitely recommend.
