angelo7 Buddha is the best choice so far if you wanna go to Medellín, have a nice time meeting people and be treated like a old friend of the house. I spend 3 days in the Hostel, stayed in a private bedroom with a nice bed the first day, and then tried the shared rooms with 6 more people in the room, I think there's not enough place to put your stuff, but is something you can handle easy with the storage facility. You'll have a nice entertainment room, beautiful surroundings, great bedroom mates and the best part of it for me was to be lucky enough and enjoy dinner with a guest chef from Spain, 10 dishes every night with a spectacular taste. I'm from Colombia and I was really surprised to find out I was the only one born in the country on the whole Hostel, I made great friends from other countries. In general I simply just loved it!

mrtavera It's a great place to stay, the service is good and it's very well ubicated, near to shopping center, train stations, pubs among other places to visit. If my family and I will go back to medellin, obviously we will stay in Geo Hostel, a safety, beautiful and confortable place to stay

Bontravels This budget hostel is certainly close to all the action if you like music. There are restaurants close by. The superb metro is a 8 minute walk away, which is clean, inexpensive and an efficient way to get into the city centre. As a lone female traveller I felt safe around the area, my only issue was the noise, it is very noisy, the loud door bell rings everytime some crosses the threshold, which is very irritating. The local bars have loud music certainly most evenings and late into the early hours on the weekend - take ear plugs if music is not your thing. Compared to other budget hostels I stayed in Colombia, I felt this was over priced for the service provided, which in my case was none, the room was not cleaned during my 3 day stay; unlike other hostels who make the bed and change the towels and empty the 'bin' every day. I have stayed in cheaper hostels and been provided better service. People were friendly and helpful though.
