Paul17 This place has all what you need to feel more than welcome. The owners can help you for local tours or planning your journey.I really had a good time here as the showers are hot ones and there is a local shopping center only 5mins walk. This hostel is really clean. As a guest you can also enjoy the little balcony that gives on a private garden or if it is rainy, enjoy one of their numerous movies available for free, play x-box or simply chill on their giant sofa in front of the flat screen. Only one word (two actually) comes to me to describe this hostel "Pura Vida"

mapinto Great location, very friendly staff who helped me book my trips around the country. Thank you Iola and Robin, and Federico! If you stay there, make sure you have time to go to the restaurant located just outside the main door (Jardin del Parque) - delicious organic vegetarian food!

mariaeb hi! we've been 3 times in Gaudys backpackers hotel and believe it is a good alternative economic and cozy to sleep in san jose. Rooms are clean, with individual bathroom (which we reserve) and hot water (something that many accommodations in Costa Rica announced but really are few hotels with hot water in the country). Hotel staff are very friendly and willing to provide all information required of them (the truth is that generally in Costa Rica we were treated very kindly everywhere). hola! hemos estado 3 veces en el hotel Gaudys backpackers y creemos que es una buena alternativa económica y acojedora para dormir en san jose.

morita2 The place was very nicely located. I was happy with pretty much everything, except for the fact that they served margarine for breakfast instead of butter. Margarine is extremely toxic for the human body.

Sam I Am It's been a while since I stayed here but it was a nice hostel. The pool especially makes this place on a hot day! It was within walking distance of El Pueblo, but I don't remember the location being that fantastic compared to earlier stays in San Jose.
