Location is as good as it gets. This is a simple guest house on the 5th floor walk up building, but the old ladies who run it are so friendly that you feel like staying in your grandmother's home One day it was raining cats and dogs, and we couldn't get a cab to go to a restaurant, so the owner cook us dinner from her own kitchen saving us from starvation.

Property Information:

Guest house 'Brazil Africa' is located in the heart of Lisbon downtown close to Se Cathedral. You only need to walk to visit the historical Lisbon or catch the famous train 28, which stops just in front of us, and go to Fado's house or visit Jorge Castle. We have single/double/triple and quadruple rooms(quadruple rooms have one double bed and two single beds) All the rooms have balconies and some have TV and shower inside the room. 24 hours reception desk. We offer comfort and a young atmosphere. OUR POLICIES: 48 hours for cancelattion ( only trough e-mail). Sorry we don´t acept cancelattion by telephone. If you no show we charge 1st night. For payment : only cash.

From Lisbon airport - bus nº 91 - 44 - 45

Get out at Praça do Comercio and walk Via Rua da Madalena.

From Santa Apolonia train Station, take a bus to Praça do Comercio, they all stop there, it is a five minutes ride.

Metro Station - Rossio.

Location is as good as it gets. This is a simple guest house on the 5th floor walk up building, but the old ladies who run it are so friendly that you feel like staying in your grandmother's home One day it was raining cats and dogs, and we couldn't get a cab to go to a restaurant, so the owner cook us dinner from her own kitchen saving us from starvation. She did not even charge, though we offered money. The place is also exceptionally clean. There is a single shared restroom on the floor, but rooms have their own showers and sinks. There is internet in the common area.

A lovely lady opened the door at 1.30 am in the morning. The place is very friendly and the room is clean, shower included. The place is just around the corner of the famous tram 28 and a 5 minute walk (up the hill) to Sé Cathedral. The shopping area is close by and also the metro station or several buses. For this price a fantastic location in between Alfama. I'll definitly come back!

The women who run Guest House Brazil-Africa are a delight to be around. They welcomed us and made us feel at home. Also, the location cannot be beat! It is within walking distance of most of the interesting neighborhoods in Lisbon. A metro stop is around a 7 minute walk away. And the price is extremely reasonable. It is a great find.

I would recommend this hostel to anyone who is wanting to travel Lisbon and all of the other hostels are booked. It was in a good location and there was really nice staff it was just a little old and felt like a hospital. I can't complain really for the price of a room.
