We had a private room with a bathroom and it was very clean and decorated in an eclectic style! Very characterful. It's a fantastic location right in the Albacin, with laid back staff and a friendly atmosphere. There was quite a lot of coming and going during the night (doorbells ringing, people calling out for friends etc etc) so it's not the quietest place and the room was above the front door.

Enjoy budget accommodation in style. Your backpacking experience comes complete with guest kitchen and contemporary outside-house bar. At Makuto you can indulge in the luxury of two deluxe ensuited rooms, enjoy privacy while relaxing in the whole Makuto area, or meet your fellow travellers in a 4-6 share dormitory room with common bathroom. All rooms feature fresh white linen and heating.

We had a private room with a bathroom and it was very clean and decorated in an eclectic style! Very characterful. It's a fantastic location right in the Albacin, with laid back staff and a friendly atmosphere. There was quite a lot of coming and going during the night (doorbells ringing, people calling out for friends etc etc) so it's not the quietest place and the room was above the front door. We were there in Oct so the end of season feeling was prevalent and everyone was laid back, kind and helpful. It was the same price as a 2/3* hotel room so not a cheap option but it was nice to have a place to hang out in and chat with others when you needed a break from walking the city or just for a friendly nightcap before bed, which you wouldn't get in a hotel.
A disappointment was that our second booking (done on internet through hostal world) was mixed up and Makuto had given our room to someone else and we had to go elswhere. They tried to help us by finding us a hotel room but it was an expensive taxi ride away (which Makuto did not offer to pay) and we also lost our deposit with hostal world. My advice is to phone Makuto directly to make a booking with them as there are obvious problems with the internet booking system.

Very small, but with friendly atmosphere and kind people.
Not suitable for long period, but perfect for a short stay.
