I had read some bad reviews of this place but I had considered them to be the work of whinging travellers. I, therefore, paid the bad reviews no heed. I should have. This place is an absolute nightmare. It is certainly not cheap for the area and the staff are more than rude, they are complete operators. The rooms were nothing special (additionally there were holes in the sheets) and although the location is central there are numerous other, much cheaper and more lovely hotels on the same block. The staff, it bears noting, were completely abysmal (they could not get their stories straight and they simply wrote new "hotel policy" as it suited them). This place is a con job and they will exploit you if you are not happy with their (terrible) service and overpriced rooms. I would NOT recommend Castilla II to anyone. A Even though I had to chance plans due to the death of someone close the boss would not let me leave without trying to charge me 200 euros in cancellation fees. A number of other hotels are a stone's throw away (Hostal Nuestra Senora de La Paloma or Hostal Commercial in the same building at Calle Esparteros 12) and are not only cheaper, but also run by friendly families with better rooms for more than half the price. Do not book into Castilla II; particularly if you enjoy flexibility, good service or value for money.
No vale la molestia quedarse en este hotel. El servicio está malísimo y las habitaciones son muy sencillas (y además estaban estropeadas las sabanas) . Hay otros hoteles en la misma cuadra que ofrecen habitaciones más económicas con mejores servicios (por ejemplo – todos los hoteles en el edificio Calle Esparteros 12). La gente que trabaja en Castilla II es sin vergüenza y el jefe es prácticamente un timador. El jefe me cobró más que cien euros aunque se falleció mi prima y tenía que cambiar mis planes.
