The Hostal is also within easy walking distance of the main museums in Madrid such as the Prado Art Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Reina Sofia Contemporary Art Museum. Hostal Xucar has single, twins and triple rooms ,clean and comfortable, with heat, and shared bathrooms.

The owners were nice enough, although they didnt speak a word of English, which was a challenge. I definitely wouldnt go there again, it wasnt a very comfortable atmosphere, but the room itself wasnt too bad. I would only recommend for a very short stay and for people who speak Spanish.

Receptionist very unpleasant, gets extremely annoyed every time you ask him anything and you don't speak Spanish.

Customer service non existant, they don't reply on emails and don't speak English when you call over the phone to confirm your booking.

Suitable only for travellers interested to have a bed for a few days in central Madrid and absolutely nothing else.

Best to be avoided.
