Über Lub d Bangkok Silom
Das Lub d ist ein erstklassiges Hostel in der Decho Road, im Herzen von Bangkok, unweit der Silom Road. Die BTS Skytrain-Station Chong Nonsee ist vom Hotel aus bequem zu Fuß zu erreichen (8 bis 10 Minuten), ebenso Patpong und das Gewerbezentrum mit Geschäften, Restaurants, Bars und Nachtclubs, die vom frühen Morgen bis spät in die Nacht geöffnet sind. Reisende können über das öffentliche Nahverkehrssystem BTS Skytrain viele der wichtigsten Anlaufpunkte Bangkoks erreichen, darunter den Anleger für Bootsfahrten zum Königspalast und die Altstadt von Bangkok.

I'd stayed at Lub*d a few months previously when first arriving in Bangkok. So I decided to book another stay there for my last night before flying home again back in December. Across all areas the hostel seemed to me to be very professionally run. The staff are helpful and most speak very good English, they were very busy but were always helpful and polite. The design and layout of the building very open and welcoming, its feels fresh and it kept very clean. I noticed a few small fixtures that needed fixing/replacing but these were minor. The dorms are large and have good security, only complaint was that the one i was in was quite dark as the main light was dim and at one end of the dorm. Though i guess this is good if you're the one asleep and someone gets in late and turns the light on. Each bunk had its own light and power point which was useful.
Some travellers may think the hostel is poorly located as its in the Silom area. While it is far from Khao San Rd and the main sight in that area of town, it is actually a very good location in my opinion. Its not far from Chinatown and the main train station which is just in walking distance. Best of all its an easy short walk to the closest skytrain station which then links you to a lot of Bangkok areas. I needed to get to the airport early one morning and this was very simple to achieve via the train network.
Theres loads of good shopping and eating around the area the hostel is in. My tip is to walk south out of Decho Rd on to Silom then turn right, walk along until you see the quite unique looking temple across on the left side of the road, turn right there down a street which has a lot of food stalls selling freshly cooked seafood. The food there was amazing and very well priced. About 50-80 baht for a really good pad thai, curry etc.
