Great cheap place to stay in Bagkok. Well located near the river right in the centre of the city. Rooms are basic but include a TV and an essential shower. Very friendly and helpful staff.
For budget accomodation I could not recommend it higher.

Woodlands Inn, established in 1995, is a first class budget hotel, consisting of 75 luxurious guestrooms matched with the warm and friendly service of the South Indian Management Team.

Consisting of Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, Thai and English speaking Trained Staff provide a service to make you feel at home away from home.

The Hotel is located in the Heart of Downtown Bangkok with Shopping, Business and Entertainment Centres within walking distance. We are only 500 meters away from the famous Chao Praya River, 1.6 Km from Hualumphong Bangkok Central Railway Station, 1.5 Km from Newly Opened Underground Train Station, 1 Km from BTS Sky Train Station and approximately 30 minutes from Don Muang Bangkok International Airport.

Woodlands Inn was the most shocking place that I have ever stayed in, and that includes some of the places that I have stayed at in India. They put me into a room on the fifth floor, which was a filthy mess that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. The Bathroom was also shocker. The first thing I did was to look for the fire escape only to find it led to a locked door and when I inquired why the door could not be opened, I was told that there was an old lady living behind the locked door. In addition, it was always locked. I lasted two days, ( the only reason I lasted two days that I was meeting some friends there) and left and went up the street to get away from the dreadful place and walked into a Travel office in Charoen Road 9 (New Road) and made inquires about leaving Bangkok and going on to Cambodia when the lady behind the desk asked why I was leaving and when I told her she asked I would be interested in a place she had to let, and promptly led me across the street and into a Soi (A Lane) and led me inside to the cleanest place that I have ever seen. There were three spotless rooms, all with Air-conditioning and with full security. With two equally spotless bathrooms and it is close to all amenities and everything is provided. I highly recommend that if you are back backing or just visiting Bangkok, check it out, you will not be disappointed.
