The Bayou & Voodoo, our Cajun Cabins, sit overlooking our turtle pond in a relaxing setting.If you have come to New Orleans for it's bawdy reputation this bohemian haunt is party central.Our spacious comfortable common rooms are decorated by art and pictures of guests long since gone. Our easy going, relaxed atmosphere has added facilities including Cable TV, Internet Access, ATM, a fully equipped kitchen, rear courtyard and or newly renovated 'Indian Ocean'-our swimming pool and sun deck. A great way to wile away those warm days in N'awlins.The hostel is European managed with a casual atmoshphere and located at the corner of 3200 Canal ST and South Lopez ST, in the Mid-City area of New Orleans.India House has NO curfew or Lock-out period, Kitchen, common rooms and all facilites are available 24hrs a day. In addition we are walking distance to local pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and all ameneties a traveller would need. Or just enjoy a relaxing time in our rear courtyard sipping a cold beer with fellow travellers from around the globe. Ideal location for those travelling alone to meet cool fellow travellers to see this fun city.The atmosphere is second to none when it comes to meeting great friends or just enjoying our swimming pool. The common rooms are usually teeming with genuine world traellers, backpackers and cool people like yourself at anytime of the day or night. Staff will be more than willing to give tour info or assistance in any manner. Streetcars run along Canal ST(well lit at night) to the French Quarter/ Downtown 22hrs a day and within close distance to the Amtrak/Greyhound Terminal also.India House is a hostel in the true sense, european style atmosphere, relaxed, non-restrictive and not a Guest House, Motel or Hotel posing as a hostel.Mardi Gras - Availability coming soon !
