Excellent hotel, with a great price, friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere. Only downside is the location, about 8 minutes drive to Queenstown, but they have a free shuttle to and from town every other hour which makes up for it a little.

We decided to stay here out of town purely because we needed car parking facilities. They do have a shuttle here that runs regularly in to town and back and you can even ask them to do extra trips if you need to get to town at a different time. Unfortunatley they stop running back from town at 10pm which means you have to catch a $30 taxi if you want to stay out for a few drinks which we had to do a few nights, so it might have been cheaper to stay somewhere in town and pay the daily parking prices. It takes about 10 mins drive to get to town from the hotel. On the other hand if you are skiiing, then coronet peak ski field is so close and the shot over jet is between the hotel and town aswell. They had heaps of stuff to do here. More for families with kids though. They had a games room, gym, strike bowling. And the buffet breakfast for about $16 was awesome! And i think there is hot pools straight across the road - not sure if they were open. You can get snack food at the strike bowling alley or there is a restaurant across the street, and there is a good bar onsite too. The rooms were huge and clean with big bay windows and a window seat. Not very modern but great for the price. We were only given one key which meant every time one of us went outside for a smoke or to get something, you had to either be available to let them back in (no jumping into the shower or bed) or the other person took the key and then you had no lights as the key ran the power to the room. Not fun... We had a problem with thier clothes dryer and the front reception staff were fantastic. They went down and got our washing out, put it in their staff dryers while we were out and then put our dry washing in our room before we got back. Thanks again for that. If I had kids or if I wanted to ski at coronet peak, I would definately stay here again. Cheers
