We recently visited the Hostal Portobello as 2 Canadian couples. The owners were super friendly and helped us with luggage, information, dinner tips and things to do in Valparaiso. Based on their information, we had a great time in Valparaiso and would recommend this B&B to anyone interested in visiting Valparaiso for the many historic and cultural attractions.

Located in a traditional Valparaiso's neighborhood, with a beautiful view to the Bay and to the hills. Under the concept of hostal boutique, we offer to our visitors a comfortable and a cute place to stay in, stylishly decorated and furnished, in order to give a high-quality and intimate experience.

We are just a few steps from, the Artillería elevator, the 21 de Mayo Avenue, the Navy Museum and from Playa Ancha traditional houses. Next to the financial center, Sotomayor square, the traditional hills Alegre and Concepcion, restaurants bars and pubs.

Breackfast included, also access to internet and WI-FI, hot water 24 hours and touristic information from the town.

Our House is spacious and brigth, with one family room, a double, a twin, and one single room. It also has a terrace, where you can enjoy the early sun and the nice view to the bay.

Our aim is to offer a high-quality and efficient service mixed up with a friendly and suitable assistance, to make you feel an unforgetable experience.

We recently visited the Hostal Portobello as 2 Canadian couples. The owners were super friendly and helped us with luggage, information, dinner tips and things to do in Valparaiso. Based on their information, we had a great time in Valparaiso and would recommend this B&B to anyone interested in visiting Valparaiso for the many historic and cultural attractions.
The following should be kept in mind:
1. Valparaiso is very hilly and visitors should be in reasonable shape to take full advantage of the many sights. The B&B is located on a steep street that is not accessible by car, the nearest point is about 200m uphill from the Hostal
2. While the Hostal has a great view of the bay and the working port, container cranes are in operation 24 hours per day, so it tends to be a bit noisy, although we quickly adjusted to this aspect.
Based on the Alejandro's (owner) recommendatiuon, we ate in the Puerto Viejo restaurant and the food and ambience were amazing at a very reasonable price.. Definitely worth it.
This was our virst visit to Chile and we found the people to be very friendly and the values to be great.
Overall, the Hostal Portobello is highly recommended
