Even though my spanish was awful, everyone was very accomodating and friendly, and their kindness in letting me use the internet for free was very much appreciated!
A clean, comfy room, and a location perfectly inbetween the historical and new centres of Quito
Only bad point was the one shower and toilet for the whole hostel, though it didnt cause too much hassle

However if you want to see beyond Quito or this magnificent country walk just a few hundred steps and you are in the oldest South American observatory still functioning.

This Bed and Breakfast Property offers simple rooms for one two or three persons all with double beds and private or shared bathrooms with prices that range from $6 to $8 US for person.

We are one of the few establishments in Quito that offers to its guest's real filtered coffee exactly as you are used to in you home. Besides cafeteria services we have an express laundry and affordable Spanish lessons on the site with an exchange of books. For backpackers there is baggage storage plus Internet, fax and telephone. this is by far my favorite hostal in ecuador. i love it! it is so clean, hot showers, so cheap, and the folks here are so helpful and muy sympaticos! i stayed an extra night because i was enjoying myself in quito and here at marsella. when i return from otavalo, i will most likely spend another night of rest here. it is quiet and there is free internet. they have free luggage storage for me while i go on the jungle trek to Cuyabeno. the location is great because it is only a 15 minute walk to either the new city or the old--- right in the middle! if you are returning at 7 or so, it is recommended to take a taxi back to the hostal, but these are only $2 from either location ...new or old city. so this is no problem. they offer water and beer for very cheap prices, cheaper than the local tiendas. they greeted me with a very nice map of the city, a quick overview of what to see, how to be safe, etc. i highly recommend this place. you will not regret it!
