The residence is at the Milton Road Campus of Jewel & Esk Valley College. This is on a main bus route from the city centre (#44) operated by Lothian Buses (LRT).The service is every 15 minutes or so until early evening, then half-hourly until around 23:40 hrs. The journey time is about 20/25 minutes.
Numbers are clearly shown on bus stops. Fares are payable to the bus driver, (correct money needed because change is not given). A 'Day Saver' ticket at £2.30 allows unlimited journeys around the city all day on Lothian Buses (excluding night services).
From outside the main Marks & Spencer store on Princes Street, take a 44 bus (direction Wallyford) to MILTON ROAD EAST (single fare £1.00). The journey time is about 20 mins. Ask the driver to indicate the stop for the college. The college entrance is clearly visible on the right-hand side of the road. Beside the college is the Kings Manor Hotel. If you go past the hotel, you have gone too far!
If arriving in Edinburgh by train (Waverley Station), cross to the other side of Princes Street, and proceed as above.
The night bus service (N44) runs hourly from 00:15hrs. Night buses leave from Princes Street, in the area of Waverley rail station. The bus stop is outside Burger King, opposite the Balmoral Hotel. The night fare is £2.00
