Backpackers Downtown Lodge is located in the heart of central Queenstown; a stone's throw away from Lake Wakatipu and minutes away from Queenstown's adrenaline activities.

The lodge was originally a hotel until 1991 when we changed it into an excellent backpacker centre. You will enjoy our comfortable, clean premises and also meeting our knowledgeable local staff who can advise you on trips, adventures, hot spots and local culture.

Backpackers Downtown Lodge has 27 large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We have a choice of doubles, twins, and ensuite dorm rooms accommodating up to 6 people. Our doubles and twins are fitted in a classic kiwi retro style. The fully equipped kitchen and relaxed dining and living area give you all the comforts of home, while the central location lets you experience New Zealand, Queenstown style.
