We were sorely disappointed by Casa Naranja. The communication before we arrived was confused and contradictory, where first I was informed that I didn't have to pay up-front, and then I was told it was necessary, and then my cousin (who is Ecuadorian) sent money and this wasn't properly acknowledged. The bottom line is that we paid more than we should have for two nights' stay and couldn't even get a receipt until we insisted on it.. But that is only the beginning. Casa Naranja is well-located in the old city of Cuenca, in a quaint building that was once refurbished but desperately needs more attention once again. The roofs to the central courtyards leak badly in the rain; it is dim and cold and we were told that the hot water works but it doesn't. The worst part was that, often for long stretches at a time, there was no staff on hand at all. For example, when we arrived in the late afternoon, there was only a young girl on hand who couldn't properly help us, even though my cousin speaks fluent Spanish. Although the guest-house is quite cheap, there is no room service while you are a guest (no one makes the bed or cleans up). On our second night at 2am someone banged loudly at the outside door and woke up all the first-floor guests, but there were no staff to deal with the situation (and we were too fearful to answer the door ourselves). No breakfast is served and there isn't even the capacity to make hot water for tea or coffee at the Casa. There are many better places in Cuenca to stay, even for the amount of money spent.

It`s a fantastic place, just in the middle of the gorgeus center of Cuenca. The rooms are great. Jus one but: it could include breakfast.
I recomend it, for sure.
