The guesthouse was in lovely surroundings. The room was small and pleasant (top of a converted barn) but the beds were very hard and lumpy and there was no soap or hairdryer provided. It was late at night when we arrived so we let ourelves in as per the note pinned to the door, but we were unable to freshen up properly after a long trip as there was only a bath with a shower hose (but no room to stand in the bath as it was under the roof space) and no access to power points at all.

Family run accommodation in period home set within landscaped gardens. Airport/station transfers, late arrivals, adjacent to pub, and early breakfast catered for.

We are located on a village green, with complimentary properties yet only around 10 minutesirport from the airport terminal.

We have an arrangement with a local pub that our guests receive a complimentary drink when ordering a main course meal.

All our rooms are fully ensuite, with cotton linen, colour TV, tea and coffe making facilities, alarm clock, and hairdryer. All rooms have their own private external entrance. The rooms are all located in our fully regulated barn conversion (offering complete guest privacy), whilst complying with Historic building, fire, energy and sound regulations.

Adjacent to a country inne 'The George' for lunchtime/evening meals, renowned for homecooked meals with generous portions (only 100 metres distance).

FREE AIRPORT/BISHOPS STORTFORD STATION TRANSFERS (16:00 to 21:00 and 07:00 until 11:00).

Long Term parking available, off street in our own private car park at the rear of our plot (backing onto open fields and not visible from the road).

Breakfast lounge available at anytime even for those very early morning airport departures.

Late checkin possible at anytime (for checkin after 23:00, please email or call to arrange).

Wireless internet access available (Free of Charge).

Opening hours from 16:00 vacate by 11:00.

Central London, Liverpool Street or Tottenham Hale 30 mins, Cambridge 25 mins, by train from Bishops Stortford.

The market Town of Bishops Stortford is located only 2 miles from Bonningtons.

Local area attractions include Hatfield Forest, the river Stort, or Audley End House.

The guesthouse was in lovely surroundings. The room was small and pleasant (top of a converted barn) but the beds were very hard and lumpy and there was no soap or hairdryer provided. It was late at night when we arrived so we let ourelves in as per the note pinned to the door, but we were unable to freshen up properly after a long trip as there was only a bath with a shower hose (but no room to stand in the bath as it was under the roof space) and no access to power points at all. When we traced the kettle lead back it was apparently plugged into a powerboard which was inside a dresser/cupboard. The door of the cupboard could not be opened as it was pushed up against the end of one of the twin beds and unfortunately, the spare linen and blankets were also in the cupboard so we had to make do with what was already on the beds (a bit chilly).
Breakfast is a help-yourself style in another converted barn(?) which was well stocked with various breads/muffins/biscuits and tea or coffee, along with a toaster and kettle. The breads were not fresh and presumably been there a couple of days(?) but were fine for toasting. Cold breakfast only. We washed up our dishes but had to leave them draining as no tea towels etc.
This guesthouse is much further from Stansted airport than siggested in it's advertising, however the cab ride (around 15 pounds, if I recall) was not unpleasant. We left the next morning when the hotel proprietor drove one of the other guests to the airport and dropped us off at Bishops Stortford station enroute, to catch the train into London. This was offered as part of the room price which is a nice touch.
