Capital View is located on 301 Eye st NW in Washington DC, only 5 minutes walking distance from Chinatown Metro station and Union Station (RED line) and all the buses coming into DC that stop there.
Easy to reach attractions by foot, around us are: The White House, Convention Center, China Town, U.S.Capitol, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution with 19 museums (like Museum of Natural History, and Air & Space Museum- one of the most visited museums in the World) and 9 research centers, and Supreme Court.

CANCELLATIONS ARE ONLY ACCEPTED BY EMAIL AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF YOUR ARRIVAL TIME. LATE CANCELLATIONS ARE AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED FOR THE FIRST NIGHT.

Mature, quiet guests are preferred.
We do everything we can do to preserve a tranquil atmosphere in our hostel. All of our guests must be over 18 years old.
Unfortunately, we do not usually accommodate seniors sixty five and over - however, it is case by case situation.
We house brand new metal bunk beds, with a maximum weight limit of 280lbs. If you are over the limit you may be turned down for safety reasons.
Smoking is NOT allowed.
Evidence of smoking in the room or common areas will result in an additional charge of $1000 will be billed to cover the additional cleaning for smoking in the room and loss of revenue. Any kind of open flames, including lit cigarettes or burning candles, are not allowed.
No (extreme) physical intimate behavior allowed;
No drinking allowed.
No pets are allowed.
Cancellation and Payment Policy -
First night charge for NO SHOW
Capital View maintains a strict cancellation policy.
You must notify us at least 3 days prior to departure time (once you have checked in). Any days within 3 days will be subjected to a 50% cancellation fee. Any cancellation of the day of Check-in will be charged the full nights stay. Please be courteous and inform us immediately of a cancellation or change in plans. Reservations that have not checked in, may make changes 24 ahead of check-in time with no fees.
Group reservations cancellation (5 or more guests) - 2 weeks prior arrival; 10 or more guests- 1 month; cancellation less then 2 weeks or 1 month, will result 100% group charge. All group reservations will be charged 15% non-refundable deposit.
Upon arrival, full payment will be accepted in cash (US) travelers checks or credit cards VISA/MASTERCARD/DISCOVER. We do not accept personal checks.
TAXES of 14.5% WILL BE ADDED UPON MAKING A RESERVATION
Our reception hours are from 10am to 10pm; check-in outside of these hours must be EXPLICITLY APPROVED by a manager. Please contact us at least 24 hours before your arrival time, there is a fee of $10 (per the whole reservation, irrelevant of people or nights). Your late check-in is not guaranteed until you have received and explicit confirmation from the management.
Taxes aren't included in the price; they'll be added upon check-in at a rate of 14.5%. We accept cash (USD), travellers' cheques and credit cards.
We have a three-day cancellation policy, once checked in. Cancellations received within 3 days of arrival will be subjected to a 50% cancellation fee. No-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of check-in will be charged for a full night's stay.
All groups (4+) are charged 15% of the total amount, prior to arrival. Small group reservations (4 - 10) have the same 24 hour cancellation period, medium size groups (10-20) have a minimum of 1 week cancellation notice, and large groups (20+) are required to inform us 2-4 weeks in advance for any cancellations (depending on size). Group reservations are not considered valid, unless the deposit is charged with sufficient time, ahead of arrival.

Smoking isn't allowed. Evidence of smoking in the room or common areas will result in an additional charge of $500 to cover the additional cleaning for smoking in the room and loss of revenue. Any kind of open flames, including lit cigarettes or burning candles, are not allowed.
We have a long-stay policy of a maximum of 7 days, unless the staff approve otherwise.
We do not allow DC residents, or those from the nearby MD or VA areas.
No pets, please.
