Alonnah retreat is a warm and friendly hostel/backpackers that welcomes travelers and families from all over the world. We have a flexibility that allows for different configurations of the bedrooms.

Guests can relax in our recreation room; complete with comfy sofas, TV and DVD library, or catch up with friends and family over the internet. Wi-fi access is also available throughout the property (additional charge may apply).

We have a small communal kitchen, where guests can make themselves a hearty meal or quick snack, we also have BBQ facilities and outdoor cooking and dining areas.

Trips and tours can also be Booked at our reception, so don't be afraid to ask.'

Alonnah Retreat has accommodation for 10 people. We have 2 dorm type Bedrooms with 4 beds in each. These rooms can sleep 5 people and can be booked as shared/backpacker or family/ private. The rooms have one double bed and four singles. Heaters in all the bedrooms, spare pillows and blankets.

Bed sheets and linen are provided. There are 2 separate bathrooms and toilets, towels are provided and there is heating in the bathrooms.

'Alonnah Retreat is on Bruny Island. To access the Island, drive to Kettering which is about 35 minutes from Hobart on the Channel Highway going south.

At Kettering you turn left to the Bruny Island vehicular ferry. It is a 20 minute crossing and then the drive to Alonnah is another 25 minutes. Some parts of the main road are still dirt. We are approximately 1/2 way along William Carte Drive and there is a sign at the gate.
