We took Merapi as the name of our hotel because of it’s beauty, strength and power. MERAPI HOTEL is located at Sosrowijayan area nearby Malioboro the main and legendary street down town of Yogyakarta where is known as Tourist Village since 1970’s.

The first time was Ok for 1 A/C air con room/ 3 pax. It's deal for room with this rate, but for this time I booked 5 A/C rooms ,staff gave us only 4 rooms, one room door with locker must be fixed so we change to new fan room. If I didn't go with big group I would change to new hotels near malioboro. staffs are ok even they didn't understand easy.

it is located in the center of Jogja. Very near to city center and 1-1.5 hours drive to historic places. Many travel agents to book your tour packages. Many restaurants and eating places. Many becaks. And a lot of tourists staying here, so you want feel alienated.
Reasonable price and u get everything here including internet access and money changer....
only drawback is crowded and busy....not a place to relax....

Great location, rooms were okay, good value for money. Very friendly staff. I also recommend Bintang restaurant which is owned by the same people - great food and beer excellent value and live music.
