Reservation/Cancellation Policy:
- Payment is due in cash upon arrival.
- Check-in after 13.00 until 01.00
- Check out before 10,30.
- Breakfast is not included in the price of the room.
- If a reservation is canceled with less than 3 days (unless advice otherwise) prior to the arrival date, the amount charged will be equivalent to the total amount of the first night's reservation.
- Cancellations or alterations are accepted only via email or fax. -

RSSThis hostel is extremely close to the Leaning Tower and pretty much all of the main attractions in Pisa. The city itself is very walkable and quite small. You probably would only need to spend one full day here to soak it all in but it is a lovely place to just meander about or use as a home base between other nearby cities. There are some lovely beaches nearby, accessible by train, if you have the time or inclination to take a day trip.
I actually stayed at a second property that Under the Tower runs. It is about a two minute walk from their main property on Santa Maria and it was good. There were two single beds in the room that I stayed in with a large armoire to hang clothes etc...There were no lockers and there wasn't really anywhere to lock up valuables. This wasn't a big deal for me but may pose a problem for others. There did appear to be a hidden safe in the wall but I don't think that it was operational. My room also did not have any windows which would have been nice but not really necessary. A fan was provided because it was incredibly warm and complimentary biscuits, tea and coffee are available. Also, there is a computer with internet access.
This hostel was clean and tidy. The bathroom is not overly spacious nor was the room that I stayed in but I think that others may be larger. At any rate the price is right! I would recommend staying here when in Pisa~

Nice and clean place!
Fantastic location, just steps away from the leaning tower. It also had access to a kitchen with free tea, coffee + a pay for fully stacked fridge and a free to use internet point. Room was clean and spacious and the owner was helpful.
I booked one night in Under the Tower in March 2009.
When I arrived the guy who runs it ( I think his name is Fernando ) asked if I would like to stay in next door place so I didn't actually stay in Under the Tower itself.
However my overall impression is very positive, my substituted place was much better than the one I originally booked for same price ( hotel called Helvetia ) no difference in price, Fernando even provided me with free access to internet.
