The information on the summary for Hostel Gonzo is inaccurate.

The "hostel" would be fine if you are looking for a quiet, cheap, clean, hotel out of town. The guy that worked on the counter was as friendly and helpful as his (limited) English allowed. The young boy with him, who spoke more English, was also very helpful. Breakfast was really good too (and the coffee was great!).

However the stay was disappointing as I had booked thinking I would get the place in the ad (as at mid July 2010). This is not the case.

The free pick up would have been great if they had been at the station when I arrived. They weren't. I also spent about as much money in roaming costs as I did on the room as, despite repeated requests for them to SMS rather than call me, they kept calling me to figure out which station I was at to pick me up. I had told them when I booked which bus I was using and time I was arriving.

I did not get a free ride back on departure (as promised).

I had thought that the "0.41km" related to the hostel's distance from town. It might have related to the distance from the nearest bus stop, but the hostel was far from walking distance to town.

There are also no places to eat or drink in the vicinity, though the boy did help me order in some food.

The blurb states "Apartments and rooms are made according to high standards of hostelling with French beds, single beds, cable TV, phone, kitchen, bathrooms with hydro-massage showers, as well as 24-hours parking with physical and video supervision."

My bed was a fold down couch, which the sheet did not completely cover.
The TV was so static that it made me see patterns long after I turned it off. It was difficult to tell whether it was cable, but given there were only about two stations where you could make out the picture without your eyes weeping I am guessing not.
There is no kitchen for the use of guests.
The shower in my room would be pretty good for someone of below average height, I guess?

I don't think there was a lounge area, unless it was supposed to be the couple of couches in the hallway with linen on them.

It was more of a hotel than a hostel- though it is possible I got this sense from having booked a single room rather than a dorm.

All in all, there are probably people who would book and enjoy this, being how cheap and clean etc it is- however if want a hostel near the city center with all the atmosphere and facilities you would normally expect (including those promised!) you are likely to be disappointed.
