The Flying Pig Uptown was an okay hostel. It is quite small and the stairs are fairly steep, especially if you are staying on the third floor. There is only one very small bathroom per floor, but the bathroom facilities were clean. While I was staying here (july 09), there was construction going on to expand the hostel, so it was quite noisy especially early in the morning (before 8 a.m.).

El primer Flying Pig Hostel está fundado en el hermoso corazón verde de Amsterdam, el parque Vondel, (Vondel Park), el lugar para estar durante el verano!
Después de otro día patinando, pedaleando o de relax en el parque, es muy cerca caminando hasta la famosa Leidse Plein.
En esta plaza disfrutarás viendo la diferente gente, los artístas actuando y bebiendo algo en alguna de las muchas terrasas que tienes a un lado. En la noche los pubs, clubs y teatros habren sus puertas para garantisar que la pases bien. Nuestro propio Palace Bar en el hostal es un buen lugar para conocer viajeros, y para ahorrar dinero en bebidas, porque tenemos el precio mas barato de la cerveza en el centro, entonces tu puedes beber barato antes de salir a disfrutar de la noche.
Te sentaría bien algo cultural? 'The Pig Palace' esta a solo 200 metros de tres famosos Dutch museos.

· El museo de Arte Moderno,
· El museo Rijks.
Realmente bueno es visitar Heineken Brewery, donde puedes probar nuestra cerveza

The Flying Pig Uptown was an okay hostel. It is quite small and the stairs are fairly steep, especially if you are staying on the third floor. There is only one very small bathroom per floor, but the bathroom facilities were clean. While I was staying here (july 09), there was construction going on to expand the hostel, so it was quite noisy especially early in the morning (before 8 a.m.). The location was great, right next to the vondelpark and an easy walk to Leidesplein with great restaurants, bars and streetcar access. Also an easy 5 minute walk to the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum. A decent hostel to stay in if you are not planning on spending a lot of time in the hostel but exploring the surrounding areas of Amsterdam.

-Cancellations have to be made at least 24 hours before arriving. You can do this on Monday to Thursday by e-mail. Always send your reservation details with your cancellation, so your reservation can be found in the system as soon as possible. Only when you receive a reply with the confirmation of your cancellation, you can be sure that your cancellation has been processed
-On Friday, Saturday and Sunday you have to call the hostels directly. Write down the date and hour of canceling and the name of the person you spoke to.
Important Note: The Flying Pig has an age restriction: we cannot accept people under 18 and above 40 years of age.

De aeropuerto Schipol a Amsterdam Estacion Central
La forma mas facil de ir a Amsterdam desde el aeropuerto Schipol es en tren. Los trenes salen cada 10 mnts. Entre las 6 de la manana y la 1 de la noche. Un billete de ida cuesta 3.20 y se puede sacar en una de las maquinas con cambio o bien con billetes o tarjeta de credito/debito. Los trenes suelen salir de los andenes 1 y 2. En www.ns.nl puedes encontrar todo tipo de informacion en ingles.
COMO LLEGAR AL UPTOWN (PALACE)
Cojer tranvia 1,2 o 5 desde Estacion Central.
Bajarse en Leidseplein. Seguir anadando recto, cruzar el puente y la calle que cruzay ahi tirar a la izquierda. Pasar por las puertas principales del parque (Vondelpark) y torcer la siguiente a la derecha. El hostal se encuentra unos 100 mts a la derecha.
