International Budget Hostel se encuentra situado en pleno centro de Amsterdam, cercano a los principales museos y atracciones turísticas,contando además con la variada e interesante oferta de locales de ocio y diversión nocturnas de Leidseplein.
Sin embargo, el albergue está emplazado junto a un tranquilo y precioso canal llamado Leidsegracht.
Este albergue cuenta entre sus instalaciones con un sala de estar,orientada hacia el canal,en el que es posible intercambiar coversación y experiencias con otros huéspedes dentro de un entorno tranquilo, relajado y agradable.
Los desayunos no estan incluido en el precio de la habitacion.Son servidos dentro del mismo espacio en un horario comprendido entre las 9 de la mañana hasta el mediodía. Dispone además de máquinas expendedoras de bebidas, té y café,snacks ,así como de televisión,una estación de internet y de un teléfono público.
Las habitaciones son para cuatro personas,compartidas y mixtas,incluyendo en el precio el juego de sábanas y mantas. Dentro de cada habitación se encuentran cuatro taquillas individuales para el equipaje que pueden ser cerradas utilizando candados propios o bien alquilados en recepción previo pago de un depósito reembolsable.
Los baños y duchas son compartidos y se localizan en las entreplantas de cada piso. El edificio cuenta con un moderno sistema de detección de incendios así como de cámaras de seguridad instaladas en las areas de uso común.
El horario de recepción es de 9 de la mañana hasta las 11 de la noche, siendo posible no obstante el acceso al hostal durante las 24 horas del día mediante el uso de un código de seguridad provisto al efectuar el registro de llegada.( En caso de llegada a Amsterdam fuera de este horario contactar previamente con recepción )
CANCELLACIONES - IMPORTANTE
Para cancelar cualquier reserva es necesario solicitarlo previamente a recepción mediante aviso por fax o email al menos 24 HORAS anteriores a la fecha reservada. De no ser así la primera noche será cargada en la tarjeta de crédito provista.
Los pagos correspondientes a la reserva deberán ser abonados al efectuar el registro de llegada. De producirse en éste momento cualquier cancelación se deberá entonces abonar el importe de la primera noche en su totalidad más el 50% del resto de noche/s canceladas.
Las reservas son válidas hasta las 11 de la noche, de no haber sido acordada otra hora de llegada previamente con recepción. Las reservas son canceladas de no poder contar con autorización por la primera noche en la tarjeta de crédito.
RESERVAS DE FIN DE SEMANA - CONDICIONES ESPECIALES
Es necesario reservar un mínimo de DOS noches durante los fines de semana (viernes, sábado y domingo). En el caso de cancelación de cualquier reserva de fin de semana el cargo es de DOS NOCHES, de no haber sido canceladas con anterioridad al plazo previsto ( 24 horas)

The entire hostel is non-smoking.
We have a 24hr cancellation policy during the week; 48hr for weekend reservations (Fri, Sat, Sun). Cancellations made less than 24hrs in advance shall be charged for the first night's accommodation. Cancellations made at arrival shall be charged for the first night's accommodation plus 50% of the remaining balance. If you cancel during your stay and the reservation is prepaid you will be charged for the rest of your booking (100%). Cancellations around the holiday period must be emailed/faxed to the International Budget Hostel a week before arrival date to avoid a 50% charge on your credit card. Cancellations on arrival are charged for the full amount.
The reservation will be terminated if the hostel does not get authorisation on the credit card.
WEEKEND RESERVATIONS
We have a minimum stay of 2 nights over the weekends (Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday). Weekend reservations are subject to a TWO NIGHT cancellation fee should the 24 hours notice not be observed.
Booking conditions Holidays:
All cancellations are required to be faxed or e-mailed to the International Budget Hostel 1 week prior to arrival date. Failure to do so will result in a 50% fee, which will be charged to the given credit card. Cancellation upon arrival will result in full payment.
Upon arrival, payment for accommodation is to be made in advance.
All reservations will be held until 23.00 p.m. unless arranged differently with reception.
The reservation will be terminated if the hostel does not get authorisation on the credit card.

The booking fee and the 10% deposit is charged by Hostel World and it is not refundable.
City tax of 5% is not included.
This will be add to your room price upon arrival.

I made a reservation for four 4 bed rooms two months ahead. An "Andrew" confirmed that.
On arrival they gave us two 8 bed rooms instead - but charged the same amount.
Protest was not acceptet. "Take it or leave." This Andrew would not work here anymore.
We had to accept the new terms or to sleep on the street.
The rooms were obvious the former 4 bed rooms. The normal beds were replaced by bunk beds. There was almost no space in the room. The kitchen, which was still depicted on the evacuation plan, was locked. Bath and toilet failities were rare (2 for 32 persons), there is one (!) Computer in the lobby, for your internet access. (But also a WiFi.) Breakfast costs extra - but does not arrive before 9 a. m. At least the hostel has a pin code for the door, so you can access 24 hours.- Please remind, that they are willing to "forget" your reservation or change the condition if they can earn more otherwise.
While the cleanliness was average, but not more, friendliness was aweful. The location of the hostel is quite good but remind what you also trade in if you book here.

GREAT location in the middle of the city a few minutes from the restaurants and trams. You could easily walk across thow whole Amsterdam centre from here.
Long and steep stairs to the rooms but clean rooms with lockers- perfect for backpackers!
A big commonroom with possibilities to meet fellow travellers and a very good wi-fi. But it was just the room, nothing else to do there.
Price could be cheaper but overall a good hostel for a night or two if you just sleep there.
