Ideally situated on the fringe of Palermo, and with good bus links all over the city. Incredibly friendly staff - mainman Giorgio is a gent and I found the hostel attracted a good crowd of easy-going people.

Hostal El Candil is a classic big colonial house built at the beginning of the Twentieth Century, which today is a petit hostel ( 24 beds / 10 rooms ) located on a quiet street and, at the same time, very close to the varied and funny entertainments Palermo offers.

The location is ideal if you are more interested in living your trip as a traveller than as a tourist, getting in touch with the day-to-day life of the city, its people, its costumes, its timetables and its cultural movements.
